McCann, Jesse

Mr. McCann


The 2020-2021 academic year will be Jesse McCann's 9th school year with Saint Paul Public Schools. He has spent time at all 3 levels- Elementary (Summer School Phy Ed) , Middle School, and High School. This year he will be at Highland Park Sr. High as the Work-Based Learning and Career Pathways Coordinator. Mr. McCann is excited to coordinate work experiences for students within the Saint Paul Area and also teach Driver's Education classes. Mr McCann has been coaching basketball at various levels with Highland Park for the past 7 seasons and looks forward to another one this year. 

Background on McCann:

McCann grew up in west cental Minnesota. A big part of his life revolves around athletics. He participated in high school sports: cross country and basketball. Saint Cloud Tech and Community College was McCann's first stop for post secondary education after graduating high school. Following a stint of studying and playing basketball at Saint Cloud Tech, McCann went on to study education at Saint Cloud State University. His initial teaching license was in Special Education: Emotional/Behavioral Disorders.  Mr. McCann also completed his Teacher/Coordinator of Work-Based Learning at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. He also received his Traffic Safety Education Graduate Certificate from SCSU.

Mr. McCann's top hobbies include distance running, fitness, basketball, spending time with family and friends, and attending music events.

Prior to coming to Saint Paul School District, Mr. McCann worked at the Junveline Detention Center in Hastings, MN.
