Joel Gullickson

Tchr - Industrial Arts

Joel Gullickson is an innovative educator whose diverse teaching portfolio spans mathematics, film, and woodworking. With a rich background that includes international experience and a passion for hands-on learning, Joel has made a significant impact both in the classroom and beyond.

Joel’s teaching career began with a focus on mathematics. Expanding his repertoire, he ventured into film education. His approach to integrating these disciplines is a testament to his creative and interdisciplinary teaching philosophy.

Joel's global perspective was shaped by his time teaching abroad in Kazakhstan and Tanzania. These experiences not only broadened his cultural understanding but also enhanced his ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. His adaptability and global outlook are central to his teaching ethos.

A dedicated lifelong learner, Joel has pursued professional development through two prestigious Fund for Teachers fellowships. These opportunities allowed him to study woodworking in Ireland and Germany. His work in woodworking is not just a personal interest but a means of teaching students the value of craftsmanship and practical skills.
