Highland Park Senior Students Take Second in Junior Achievement Company of the Year Competition

Each year, young people from around the country embark on a career-connected learning journey by creating a start-up company via Junior Achievement USA. The JA Company of the Year Competition seeks to highlight these incredible student companies by inviting those who went above and beyond to create a successful business enterprise and have demonstrated growth amongst their members. 

This year, a student company from Highland Park Senior High School was among the top 15 in the country, taking home second place at the national competition in Boston. Joe Flynn Photography, a sports and senior portrait company, wowed the judges with their creativity, strong execution, and teamwork.

"Watching these young leaders build a startup from the ground up, problem-solve under pressure, and confidently present their business to national experts has been nothing short of inspiring," said Sara Dziuk, president and CEO of Junior Achievement North. "They represent the very best of our next generation of innovators, creators, and business executives."
