On Tuesday, April 18, 32 students and staff went on a IB MYP Service Field Trip to Second Harvest Heartland. We learned more about the hunger issues on our community and worked a volunteer shift. We, along with other volunteers, sorted and bagged potatoes to provide for people in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We packed 8,746 pounds in an afternoon!
On Thursday, April 20, students and staff volunteered at ARC Value Village for another IB MYP Service Field Trip. Students and staff volunteer to unpack and sort donations such as clothing, accessories, household items, books, toys, jewelry, etc. and help get them ready for the sales floor. Proceeds from Arc's Value Village benefit The Arc Greater Twin Cities, serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
