My name is Kara Amundson, and I am the 9th Grade Assistant Principal.  Before coming to Highland Park, I was a member of the Battle Creek Middle School Staff for eleven years. At Battle Creek I taught 7th and 8th grade English, coordinated the parent involvement office and Title I program, and I was an administrative intern.

I am originally from a small town in Western Wisconsin, but I attended college in St. Paul at Hamline University.  I received my Masters Degree from the University of Saint Mary's.   My husband and I moved to Hammond, Wisconsin 10 years ago.  We have three children: MiKenna, Cayden, and Karter.

I am a Green Bay Packer fan, and enjoy watching football.  My family is actively involved in showing nationally competitive Arabian horses, and much of our family time is dedicated to this hobby.  I also, teach Sunday School at my church, and I direct the children's choir.
