V4 3911 Art History IB prep 2 Quarters
This is a survey art history course that is open to all students. Course includes study of the history of art from a global perspective. Class includes image study & lecture, research & presentation, museum trip, and studio work. This class can be taken for ½ of the year or the full year. The first half will focus on ancient art history, with the second half focusing on modern art history.
V4-7020-1 Art & Design IB All Year
Thiscourse is required for both 11 and 12 th grade Art and Design IBstudents and is for students with a strong interest in the arts. Allstudents will follow the international guidelines whether or not theyelect to test. Students will plan and produce a professional portfolioof their work and an ongoing research workbook. This course requiresserious study, research & art production. Students will usecritical skills to advance their intellectual and conceptualdevelopment in the arts. Prerequisite: This course is for students whohave already completed a minimum of two art classes at HPHS/ or presenta portfolio of their artwork for teacher approval. Lab fee required.

Studentswill create original sculptures. Students will be introduced to handbuilding techniques in clay as well as other three dimensional media.Students will learn the necessary techniques to make three dimensionalsculptures. Students will learn good craftsmanship and critical skillsneeded to interpret and evaluate sculptural art works. Outdoor learningactivities when weather permits. Studentswill create three dimensional sculptures at an advanced level usingclay and other sculptural media. Students will interpret and evaluatecomplex works of art using advanced criteria and critical thinking.Students will develop a portfolio of work advanced work. Youcan Draw! Drawing is 95% skill based. You will learn how to draw and todraw well. Basic drawing techniques and materials are introduced inthis class.
