Boozhoo! My name is Taylor Anderson and this is my first year as a Special Education teacher at HPSH. This is my 9th year in education. I have experience as a general education and special education teacher at multiple grade levels. I have taught four years in St. Paul, MN and am thrilled to be apart of the HPSH team!
I am a Minnesota native, originally from St. Paul. I attended elementary schools in Phoenix, AZ and St. Paul, MN. I have went to multiple SPPS elementary schools and attended Murray Middle School. After 8th grade, my mother and I moved to Cairo, Egypt and I went to High School there for 2 ½ years when my family was transferred to Jakarta, Indonesia where I graduated High School.
Upon returning to the states for university, I had a different perspective on being a minority and living among different cultures. My father is an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Tribe of Ojibwe. I attended the University of MN, Morris for my undergraduate degree as this university has a large population of Native Americans. I obtained two licenses, K-6 and middle level social studies licensures in 2008. In 2012, I graduated from St. Mary's University with my Masters in Special Education with SLD and EBD licensures. Currently, I attend Hamline University pursuing an administrative director of special education licensure.
I am excited to meet staff, families, students and community members to build meaningful relationships this year. I believe that all students deserve the best education and am committed to serving as a dedicated leader to ensure student achievement.
