Parents, school staff and community members work closely together to manage our school. Parents are also welcome to become involved at any level of school activity, such as; visiting your child’s classroom, participating in school field trips, tutoring students, etc. Volunteerism is strongly recommended. It takes a village to educate a child!
Everybody Wins Reading Program (first and second grades) - As the function of our partnership with the Minnesota Judicial Center, Supreme Court Justices, judges, attorneys, law clerks, secretaries, etc, visit our school weekly, have lunch with an identified student, and read to that student. This program is designed to help increase our students’ interest in reading and promote a positive self-esteem.
We are lucky to have an Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) site in our building. Benjamin E. Mays and Rondo ECFE are joining forces to engage families in early childhood education. ECFE offers learning experiences for children birth to five, and opportunities for parents to network and grow their community.
