| Media Arts |  |  | | Students study Man Ray & have special Photo Passes in Digital Photography Classes | The Art and Media Arts Departments at Highland Park Senior High give students a challenging & engaging arts education . We offer IB Art & Design courses, Art History, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Filmmaking, Photography, Computer Imaging & Design, and Global Film Studies. We have kiln and raku capabilities as well as a state of the art Media Arts lab. Our classes serve all Highland students. Our students have been successful in their classes and have received honors and special recognition. Their work has debuted  | | Weegee Famous Crime Photographer | at the Honors Exhibit at the Minnesota Museum of Art, photos have been shown on Jones Soda Pop labels, and films shown at the Walker Art Center. Our mission is to serve all Highland Students, to work with the community arts organizations and to engage students in creative & technical learning.

Highland Park Free Press Students at Highland are able to express their opinions, news, and talents through our school newspaper. We meet every thursday in Ms. Canelake's room 317. The newspaper is distributed free to every student in their advisory rooms. All students are invited to voice their ideas for our paper, and/or become part of the paper through occasional contributions or as staff members.
